AUTHOR: Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were born in Hanau, near Frankfurt, Germany, in 1785 and 1786 respectively. The Brothers Grimm collected fairy tales, which until then had mostly been passed on orally, and captured them in writing for the first time as a collection. Their fairy tales have appeared in many languages since and in a multitude of editions. ILLUSTRATOR: Herbert Leupin (1918-1999) studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland and the Ecole Paul Colin in Paris, France. He was considered to be one of the most important poster artists in the fifties. He was famous for his innovative humor and his fresh and colorful style. His best posters told stories.
