Mark Fife believes he has successfully moved on from the death of his young son Brendan and the subsequent break up of his marriage to Chloe. Occasionally, he still has disturbing dreams, but he's in love again, his job is going well, and he believes he has mastered his memories.
Yet when the current owner of Mark's old house claims that it is haunted by Brendan's ghost, the old nightmares suddenly return, and with them come persistent and troubling questions.
Has Brendan truly gone, or is he searching for help? What would it mean to believe in a ghost? How will his new girlfriend react with Chloe back in Mark's life? And who, in the end, does he truly love?
But will answering these questions haunt or heal Mark?
