Debra Marlin has been photographing golden retrievers for 11 years, documenting their romps and rambles along the rustic byways & sun-dappled beaches of Martha's Vineyard. In 1995 she self-published a small collection of these delightful photographs, selling nearly 2000 copies on the Vineyard and in New England. She has now expanded that book with more photos and a compelling text, creating one of the most enchanting and evocative dog books of recent years. In 50 charming black and white images she conjures up the everyday joys of a dog's life - frolics in the water, naps on the porch, gambols along the lane, treats at the table - and captures the distinct personalities of Sonny, Lake, Tucker and Breaker, her four lovely golden boys. With a text that celebrates their adventures and movingly recounts Marlin's ordeal when one of her beloved pets suddenly died, YELLOW DOG is a heartfelt paean to the special bond between dogs and humans.
