***Features Australia*** Illustrated with spectacular images produced by the world's leading international nature photographers, this book is a tribute to the most amazing natural marvels on our planet, which are now protected in the national parks in seven continents. Readers will embark on a journey to discover the most primitive sites, the most varied wildlife, the most exceptional ecosystems and the richest biodiversity in the world. This breathtaking itinerary includes the Arctic stretches of Alaska; the vast and famous North American parks such as Yellowstone and Yosemite, visited by thousands of persons every year; the infinite greenery of Tumucumaque National Park in Brazil, which is the world's largest protected tropical area; the volcanoes in Iceland covered with glaciers; and the great African parks such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Etosha, traversed by immense herds of herbivorous animals in search of water and pastures and hunted by the most ruthless predators in the world. There are places that seem to emerge from a dream, for example the Jiuzhaigou National Park in China, and others that are seriously endangered by climate change and global warming, such as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. As a complement to this thrilling voyage of discovery there are boxes with all the practical information concerning each of the parks (surface area, year of inauguration, ecosystems, endangered animal species, etc.).
