This book is an introduction to graphics programming for Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 for experienced C and C++ programmers. Assuming little or no previous experience with programming for Windows or graphics programming, Part I and II provide a quick overview of the Windows programming model, the standard Win32 programming APIs, and the Graphics Device Interface. Chapters on the elements of drawing 2D figures with vector-drawing and raster graphics offer a thorough briefing for programmers unfamiliar with those topics.
Part III teaches the use of new DirectX 6.0 DirectDraw functionality to complete a variety of tasks - from creating and manipulating surfaces to programming animation and using colour. Additional chapters in Part IV show how to use DirectX DirectInput support for input devices and multiple monitors for advanced graphics applications. The CD includes all sample codes from the book.
