Sophie started out life bright, beautiful and loving. By age three, she was still nonverbal. Then she stopped making eye contact. She was finally diagnosed with autism. Her condition doesn't make life easy for her mum or her older sister, Angie. Sophie has an ear-splitting, siren-like keen when she's upset u so they've been evicted from their home many times. But one day, Angie watches Sophie in the back garden. She is transfixed by the Great Dane on the other side of the fence. She is calm, and quiet. Sophie doesn't even like dogs. Just this dog. And so begins a new way of life for the family u as the unlikeliest of bonds form.
