When Kelsey painted a huge mural of wings on a New York City wall inviting people to become ‘living works of art’ and share what inspired them at #whatliftsyou, her art went viral. People lined up around the block – including Taylor Swift – to be snapped in front of it and post the results. Since then Kelsey has created wild and whimsical large-scale murals all over the world that beg passers-by to step into them and share what inspires them. Kelsey will also be bringing her famous interactive winged murals to this year’s Sydney Writers Festival.
In this instalment, Kelsey brings back that powerful interactive element to inspire you to create your own masterpieces and share them. Some pages will feature origami components to colour, cut out and fold into a flower, masks or ornate fans. Some will have puzzle pieces to make into a picture. Others will feature Kelsey’s famous winged creations to cut and give ‘wings’ to babies, pets or friends, creating beautiful keepsakes or selfies to be shared. In each of the drawings, Kelsey has hidden a heart for you to find, decorate and turn into your own.
