A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends - the Liars - whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth.
Nice
It was a good book but I did find the ending confusing. That was the only thing though it was a good book.

I was sceptical when I first picked up this book due to its alternative writing style, but once I got used to it I just couldn't put it down! If you enjoy books with incredibly witty dialogue and twists that will leave you mind-blown, then We Were Liars is definitely the book for you! - Holly (QBD)

Recommended by many, We Were Liars tells the story of a group of four privledged friends on a private island full of secrets and lies. This story particularly follows the main character Cadence, who has recently had an accident and can't remember what happened last summer. It seems everyone knows something that she doesn't. Why won't they just tell her?
While reading this book, you think you've figured everything out when suddenly Lockhart throws a huge plot twist that you definitely don't see coming! As well as being fast paced and easy to read, each page you turn leaves you wanting more and more. Having read this book in just a few hours, I definitely think this is a must read for everyone! - Tia (QBD)

We were liars
I started this book not knowing what to expect and was blown away. We Were Liars is about Cady, who comes from a rich, privileged family and spends every summer on the family island with her cousins. However, for the past few years, Cady has been suffering from migraines and her memory of the last summer she spent on the island, is lost. Cady wants to know what happened that night when everything changed - why her cousins didn't keep in contact with her and why her mother and the rest of the family insist on keeping secrets from her. It's a powerful, well crafted book that keeps you guessing and will leave you devastated at the very end. Definitely one of the best YA books I've read and would recommend to anyone who's looking for something mysterious and heart wrenching. - Maria
