The savage odyssey of Charles Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate
The shocking true-crime story of one of America's most notorious 1958 murder spree conducted by Charles Starkweather and his fourteen-year-old girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate. Their murderous rampage lasted eight days and left eleven people dead including Caril Ann's mother, step-father, and baby sister. After watching the murder of her family, Caril Ann joined Charles and they drove across Nebraska, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. Caught after a high speed pursuit, Charles was sentenced to the death penalty and was Nebraska's last prisoner put to death in 1959. Caril Ann's sentence of life imprisonment was commuted and in 1981 she became a free woman.
