'Visual Basic. NET Programmer's Reference' provide both a language tutorial and reference. The tutorial provides basic material suitable for beginners but also includes in-depth content for more advanced developers.
The second part of the book is a reference that quickly allows programmers to locate information for specific language features. The entries in these appendices allow the reader to quickly review the details of important programming, objects, properties, methods, and events.
'Visual Basic 2005 with .NET 3.0 Programmer's Reference' will show VB programmers how to write code that is compatible with the upcoming Vista release of Windows as well as the .NET 3.0 framework and extensions. It will include:
- New screen shots showing the distinct Vista look and feel
- Revised code examples that are compatible with Vista and .NET 3.0
- Coverage of some of Vista's new features for providing a more dynamic interface
- A new Chapter 29, "WPF Fundamentals", that covers the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) added by the .NET Framework 3.0. This will explain how to use XAML to describe user interfaces and how to associate those interfaces with code to perform actions.
- A new Chapter 30, "WPF Designer", will describe how to use the new 'Cider' release of the Windows Presentation Foundation to write WPF code. This chapter will tie the WFP designer's results to the WPF code explained in Chapter 29.
This revised edition will add about 100 new pages, as well as extensively revise all figures and code examples to ensure they are compatible with Vista and .NET 3.0.
