Waves breaking, rolling, lifting, changing the shape of the ocean surface, changing the lives of humans who cross their paths.
Images reflect a massive geographical diversity: the waves and coasts of Tahiti, Indonesia, Morocco, Spain, France, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Micronesia, Japan, Hawaii, California and many more will be showcased.
Matching the images are a collection of first-person text accounts of human encounters with waves. Contributors will include surfers famous and not-so-famous, sailors, fishermen, lifeguards, and everyday people who've had experiences at the hands of the ocean that are well worth telling and re-telling. They'll take the reader on journeys toward death, shipwreck, hilarious shorebreak wipeouts, and ecstatic moments deep in the heart of a roaring Pipeline tube.
