'A Man In The Zoo': When John Cromartie and his lover, Josephine Lackett, quarrel about marriage, she exclaims that he should be an exhibit in the zoo. So, in a fit of spurned love he arranges to do just that, and moves into his cage between the chimpanzee and the orang-utan. But even though he's the star exhibit, he still can't get Josephine out of his head . . .

Dismissing his servants and shooting his dogs, he attempts to continue living as a married couple, dressing his wife in her old clothes, and trying vainly to control her savage nature.
