Over the last fifty years Vincent Serventy has campaigned, lobbied, filmed, written and spoken to preserve Australia's wildlife and environments, including Sydney Harbour, the Great Barrier Reef, Lake Eyre and Lake Pedder. This passion has earned him many titles, the father of conservation being the best known. He has travelled worldwide, from Antarctica, Africa, India through to the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Numbered among his friends have been fellow scientists, artists, politicians and conservationists, including David Williamson and John Olsen, Spike Milligan and Rolf Harris, Gough Whitlam and Jill and Neville Wran. His has been a fascinating and exciting life.
