Victorian Brackley is the third volume in John Clarke's history of Brackley. It takes the story from the 1830s to the outbreak of World War I. It explores the social, economic, political and religious history of Brackley and focuses on some of the larger-than-life figures, such as Francis Thicknesse and Tommy Judge, who dominated the life of the town. It shows that, though small, Victorian Brackley was a community of great interest and drama.
