A curatorial realisation of Hong Kong creative excellence, homegrown veteran designers Alan Chan and Stanley Wong (anothermountainman) spent two years from conception to completion for the inaugural exhibition of Very Hong Kong Very Hong Kong. From filmography to public signage typefaces, nearly 200 exhibits pay tribute to classic and modern cultural creations in 11 creative categories, covering both current pop culture imagery and era-defining art and media products, accompanied with talks, workshops and film screenings. Published to accompany the exhibition, this richly-illustrated catalogue presents the iconic works extracted from the fields of graphics and publication, photography, product and toy, fashion, music, film, space, architecture, media, advertising, and comic and illustration. Texts by designer and curator Amy Chow illuminates the significance of Hong Kong culture in art and the impact of the art in daily life.
