An electrifying debut novel of a young woman's love for a vampire. In spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away - until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires - and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.

If a good book is one that keeps you turning the pages then this is pretty good, but if you actually want to enjoy what you are reading on the current page then this book probably isn't for you. Meyer has managed to stretch what really adds up to about 50 pages of action, into four long books. She writes very well, the book is really easy to read and you don't need to think about anything, but she has a habit of describing things in as many words as possible while repeating the characters thoughts over and over again with just one or two changes to word order. Overall, once you start reading the book you are going to want to finish it, but it would probably save a lot of time, and longwinded explanations, to just read the spoilers on the internet.

Move Over Harry Potter...
Twilight... I mean, who hasn't heard of it by now. I know that 90% of the female population at my school are absorbed in the world of 'the twilight saga' and the other 10% are yet to be sucked in. But it's not just my school, everyone I seem to talk to has the same thing going on at their school. So its safe to say that an author who can control and lead this many readers must be doing something right. Meyer has an amazing gift which makes you crave more. She knows just how to make those pages quickly flip over, and on a wide scale. Most people are aborbed by the alluring and mysterious, Edward Cullen, but he is not the only character that drags potential readers to opening the cover. His whole vampire family are intriguing and the type of 'people' you just have to know more about. Every girl wishes they were Bella and that their boyfriend is Edward. Their best friend is Alice and their big brother is Emmett. Twilight is simply amazing! I would reccomend this book to females aged 13 years +, but thats not to say that some boys may like it too.

Absolute seduction of the imagination
The characters are described so vividly that they came alive from the first page and I found myself laughing and crying with them. Stephanie Meyer portrays a life of chastity in a way that may appeal to young readers. In a world where "love" and seduction always lead to lost innocence this novel shows every reader that you don't have to fit the mould to lead a happy and fulfilled life. A must read for young adults as they enter the world of rollercoaster emotions and runaway hormones.

Twilight
I literally could not put this book down and I have not found one person who did not thouroughly enjoy it! By the bottom of the second page you will have fallen for Bella! She is self sacrificing, strong, curious and constantly blushing! Be Careful! Once you start reading this series, you will not be able to stop! 10/10

An excellent book for all ages!
I read all four books in this series in one week and since then have not been able to find a book that compares. I know people of all ages who have read and loved this book, from a 13 year old to a 40 year year old and everyone in between. It joins teenage sexual tension with great imagery. An easy read but once you pick it up you definately won't be able to put it down. I mean who can resist gorgeous blood sucking vampires???

TWILIGHT I actually enjoyed it more than Harry Potter
When a "Harry Potter" maniac says that they enjoyed another book even more than their absolute favourite series, you know it's a book of excellence. Since it came out the "Harry Potter" series has been my life no question about it. So when ONE book managed to capture my attention more than an entire series, I was astounded. Stephanie Meyer is an author so brilliant, I'd say she's in league with Bryce Courtenay. She manages to sweep you away in a story of forbidden love yet she refrains from making it a soppy love story. This book would make an excellent gift for females 13+.
