For the last eight years, James McCready has been serving a life sentence for the murder of his partner, Gary Meadows. McCready claimed that the stabbing was a tragic accident and that the police inquiry led by Detective Superintendent Michael Walker was prejudiced. Recently, new witness statements and evidence have emerged which point the finger at police misconduct and question McCready's guilt. McCready's solicitor, Ben Duffield, and gay barrister and MP, Robert Rylands, begin to campaign for an appeal.
Meanwhile, the new evidence and suggestions of police misconduct have made their mark. McCreedy's case is granted leave to appeal. But did Walker really frame an innocent man?
