The arrival of a double decker Top Deck bus with its mad cargo of Aussies, Kiwis and Poms travelling through Europe, Africa and overland from England to India was enough to clear a campsite and draw guns at the border. Operated by characters named Screw, Filthy, Wombat, Moose, Grilly and Five Eights, Top Deck Travel seemed an unlikely candidate to become Australia's fourth largest travel business but somehow, through the mechanical problems, drinking contests, border problems and mishaps, it did.
