In this book, Gavin Bishop retells the old classic story of Tom Thumb. It's a great story of adventure and here Gavin emphasises the moral aspects of it - we need to learn to accept people for what they are despite their differences.
The book is illustrated in such a way that you can read the text or just "read" the pictures - this is done by sequences of small boxes that follow the text. Gavin uses this innovative technique to great effect and his sumptuous, richly coloured illustrations provide a visual feast. He has set the story in the 18th century, with several elaborate and strikingly beautiful illustrations.
