A girl reshapes the world every time she draws a map. Mae can "bop" or teleport from place to place like everybody else, but she chooses not to. A graffiti artist paints with his mind, and four teenagers are given fantastic powers but can't save the life of a little boy.
In these three short stories and one novella, David Skinner invents the world of metakids, teenagers with fantastic, comic book powers. Each of the stories is remarkably inventive, and the sci-fi aspects are magical without entering the realm of fantasy books.
