Thinking in Glass is the first Dutch study of modern glass art from Slovakia. The internationally renowned Czech designer Vaclav Cigler (1929), who founded the Glass in Architecture Department at the Academy of Applied Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1965, is regarded as the father of contemporary Slovak glass art. He trained a generation of glass artists who gave form in subtle ways to the phenomenon of optical glass, which is typical of the Slovak contribution to international glass art. This bi-language publication brings the most important representatives of Slovak glass art under the spotlight. Their training and the nature of their work are explored in detailed monographs. More than 100 breathtaking photographs provide a crystal clear picture of Slovak glass art. Text in Dutch nEnglish 100 colour 10 b/w illustrations
