Judith McMonigle Flynn is fed up with criticism from the state B&B association, which is threatening to yank her innkeeper's license over a few occasional corpses. Thus, when Judith - along with Cousin Renie - heads off for Little Bavaria to help man a state B&B booth during Oktoberfest, the last thing she needs is another homicide to sully her reputation.
But - being Judith - the first thing she finds is a dead body, right in the middle of an oompah band and a herd of German dancers. She flees the scene even before the cops arrive, telling Renie this is one time she will not get involved. Alas, her reputation has preceded her to the mountain village, and the local police chief seeks her help in solving the death of the beloved town patron, nonagenarian Dietrich Wessler. Judith finally agrees, but only if Renie poses as the sleuth...
