Jade doesn't think the other girls could possibly understand her problems. After all, she has every material thing a girl could need and more, and she's beautiful and sophisticated. Unlike the others, both her parents want her, and that's the problem.
Jade's career-oriented mother and father wage war against each other during their divorce. Jade feels as though she is being manipulated, pulled apart and used as a weapon between them, but it is she that is getting hurt.
