In Floralee, New Mexico, two estranged sisters fall in love with men when they least expect it - and most need it. Rose, at forty, is the older, more practical Wilder sister. When Rose's husband was killed by a drunk driver, she was left with two ungrateful twenty-something kids, a bored dog, and a horse with a bad back. Lily is the beautiful, younger, more daring sister. She is a woman who has put her career before everything else and although she has had more than her share of selfish lovers, she has yet to have a taste of love.
Struck by the heartlessness of her job and of her boyfriend, Lily flees to El Ranch Costa Plente, the family horse ranch, for a bit of soul-searching - and finds her sister tackling her own inner demons. Time away from their problems seems to be the perfect cure for what ails the Wilder sisters, But each had not anticipated the other's arrival.
