This title is the second book in Heyoka Merrifield's 'White Buffalo Woman Trilogy'.
'Painted Earth Temple' tells the story of White Buffalo Woman's origins in Europe and her adventurous migration to the New World while describing the life of the people who worshiped in the great cave temples of Europe thousands of years ago. These Paleolithic hunter/gatherers had a deep connection with the wisdom of the Earth, and their unique ceremonies reflected their pursuit of the Way of Balance within the Web of Life. When the Aryan tribes overwhelmed the older cultures of the world, the People of The Painted Earth Temple were forced to leave Gaia's Land and migrate over the land bridge into the New World.
'Painted Earth Temple' is based on the legend of the White Buffalo Woman, the primary goddess legend of the Plains tribe. The story of 'Painted Earth Temple' takes place approximately 3,600 years ago when the world shook with the might of Mt. Thera's eruption, the largest in recorded history. This cataclysm heralded global changes and occurred at a time when our Aryan ancestors began to overwhelm the older cultures of the world. The People of the Painted Earth Temple were some of the last surviving hunter-gatherers in Europe. Their small village was nestled within a hidden valley in the Alps and separated from the nearest neighbouring tribe by several weeks journey over treacherous trails. When the Aryan tribes overwhelmed the older cultures of the world, the People of The Painted Earth Temple were forced to leave Gaia's Land and migrate over the land bridge into the New World.
