Unexpectedly single at 40, Josie Copeland decides the only way to cope with life is to change it. So she gathers up her three children and moves them to the countryside where she buys a rundown barn, which she optimistically thinks she will do up. Life doesn't turn out quite how she was expecting it, though, and to make ends meet Josie starts selling her delicious cakes and pastries in the farmers market at Talyton St George. They prove an immediate hit with the locals.
If only Josie could say the same for her impact on local farmer Guy Barnes. He just seems amused and slightly scornful of her optimistic, townie ways. Still, Josie feels she's getting the hang of country life, even if her house is falling down, her children are rebelling, and cows keep breaking into her garden.
