What if there was a school for aspiring fairytale heroes and villains? The School for Good and Evil is a prestigious academy that's purpose is just that, and can only get more chaotic when Sophie and Agatha arrive on the scene. The brilliantly magical and dramatic series is perfect for any age reader who loves an intense page-turner series. - Darcy (QBD)

Going into this book I thought it was going to be a fun middle-grade book, something that was easy to read and I'd get through it really quickly. I learned pretty early on that this was not the case when it comes to "The School For Good and Evil." "The School For Good and Evil" follows two girls (I'm unsure of their ages as it's never stated, only that they are older than 12 but younger than 18) as they are kidnapped from their homes and sent to a school of legends where they are taught how to become fairytale characters. Seems pretty simple premise and fun for kids. This books is very dark and I found that from the moment you are introduced to the school for Evil. I was expecting it to be bad, but I wasn't expecting it to be as dark as it actually was. The fairytales being referenced felt more like Grimm's than something I would give to a child. This book is also very violent. There was a scene at the end that involved a character trying to protect another and both of them being pecked to death. That was a bit strange to read. The other issue that I found with this book is the amount of nudity of the main characters which I found extra disturbing when you consider that all of them are underage. Would I recommend this book to someone? Yes I definitely would, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone in the age group that middle grade is usually aimed towards. - Jordanna (QBD)
