This is a practical aid for the celebration of Mass which is "the action of Christ and the people of God hierarchically assembled". The presidential chair is one of the focal points in the eucharistic celebration. It is here that the priest exercises his function of presiding over the assembly and directing the prayer of the congregation. This book gathers into a single volume the prayers that are said at the chair on Sundays, major feasts and other important occasions, and is designed to assist the priest in his presidential ministry.
This book may also be used on weekdays of ordinary time when no Solemnity, Feast or Memorial is assigned to the weekday.
