'The Other Side of Blue' is a moving anthology of 20 autobiographical Australian stories that aim to provide hope for those struggling with tough issues in their lives. The stories span many daunting and complex challenges, from surviving childhood sexual and physical abuse, to family breakdowns, 'coming out', dealing with depression, and coping with the death of a loved one.
The diverse collection of writers touch us with their courage and their honesty. They show readers who may be dealing with their own struggles that others have also faced life's difficulties and been able to reach the other side of blue. The writers present us with many hard-won revelations -- including the discovery that they did not have to struggle alone, that there were others who cared.
This book has been compiled to offer hope to those in their early adult years -- particularly people between 18 and 30 years of age. Although the large majority of stories are from everyday Australians, a number of well-known personalities -- including Big Brother housemate Jess Hardy, Chris Cheney from the chart-topping rock band 'The Living End', and Olympic athlete Kyle van de Kuyp -- have also shared their experiences, illustrating that hardships spare no one.
