Melanie longs to throw off the dust of the tiny country town where she lives. When she sees an ad in the local paper for a country girl to work as a nanny for a family in Sydney, she takes the plunge.
But on her arrival in the city, nothing goes right. The family is awful, treating her like a servant, and the work is harder than she thought. Just as she's about to trudge back home, Melanie makes two new friends - a dog called Scruffles, and a nanny called Jazmyn. Jazmyn takes Melanie under her wing and introduces her to The Nanny Exchange. But can Melanie find a family who will take her and Scruffles?
