This very special edition contains complete text for two favourite Tintin Adventures: 'The Seven Crystal Balls' and 'Prisoners Of The Sun'. It also contains a highly illustrated section on the problems Herge had to overcome and of the exhaustive research he carried out.
The first instalment of 'The Seven Crystal Balls' appeared in strip form in the Belgian daily on 16th December 1943. But many hazards lay ahead for this story before it, and the sequel, 'Prisoners of the Sun' could be published. The theme of this two-part story is rich and varied. It embodies perhaps the most extensive narrative material ever tackled by Herge. In the first of the two books, fantasy dominates. In the second, adventure, in its real sense, predominates. Together these two stories provide all the excitement and suspense, and lively illustration, one has come to expect from this acknowledged master of the cartoon format.
