Australia’s legendary Midnight Oil return with their first new music in almost 20 years. Entitled The Makarrata Project, this unique release was produced by long-time studio partner Warne Livesey who also helmed the classic albums Diesel And Dust, Blue Sky Mining and Capricornia. The unique nature of The Makarrata Project sees Midnight Oil partnering with a selection of First Nations artists, friends and collaborators including Jessica Mauboy, Dan Sultan, Frank Yamma, Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Goodes among others. The aim of The Makarrata Project is to elevate and highlight the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which continues to call for the establishment of a ‘First Nations Voice’ enshrined in the Australian Constitution. The Makarrata Project contains the singles Gadigal Land (featuring Dan Sultan, Joel Davison, Kaleena Briggs & Bunna Lawrie) and First Nation (featuring Jessica Mauboy & Tasman Keith).
