A plane falls from the sky as a couple argue in their backyard; the whine of its engines drowning out their voices, part of the aircraft shearing through the roof of their house. A few miles away in the airport a young man anxiously awaits the arrival of his girlfriend, while in a long-empty house an old woman nervously anticipates the reappearance of a husband who left her many years before.
There is only one survivor - a man who has fled his past, and for whom the future holds no comfort.
