Flamboyant property developer Joseph McGilvray was looking forward to the cocktail party of the season. What he didn't expect was that his dowdy wife Alice would be snatched by a masked intruder in full view of his gaping party guests.
The police investigation comes to a dead end. It is up to Anne O'Leary, aspiring chef and unwilling toilet cleaner (with a soft spot for the McGilvray's son Nick) to solve it.
