This is the most colourful, warm, honest and at times funny view into the lives of women in Afghanistan and Deborah Rodriguez, the beautician who came from Michigan, USA, and was their teacher at the Kabul Beauty School. Since the book was published the Afghan government has clamped down on the school and Debbie had to flee the country. In this new B format edition she writes in the Afterword about her escape from Afghanistan, the decision some of her students made to leave their country, and the situation for the school and its pupils now.
