GWATG is an exceptional read. It sucks you in from page one, just releasing snippets of the world the characters are facing. I found myself trying to read faster in order to get more information about what happened and how humanity was dealing with the crisis. The hungries are scary but not unlike what I've come across before in this genre and this story is not about them. It's about the survivors. MR Carey has created a special world, crafted carefully to hook you in from the beginning. This book features some spectacular twists and the science is believable. - Ashley (QBD)

An airbourne virus has wiped out most of humanity. The hungries rule. With humanity pushed to the edge of extinction, a cure hinges on the works of a the calculating Dr Caldwell. Carey is a fantastic author who gives a distinct voice to each character. Part thriller, part sci-fi, this book is a must for those who want to approach the post apocolyptic genre from a fresh perspective. - Laurence (QBD)

Untitled
An airborne virus has wiped out most of humanity and replaced it with what can only be described as zombies, and while the Z word isn't explicitly used throughout the book, it most certainly pushes that idea. Humanity is pushed to the edge of extinction, and hope for a cure hinges on a single government research facility, lead by the calculating Dr Caldwell. Told through four very distinct voices - something that author Carey has had plenty of practice doing being a pivotal writer for the X-Men comics during the 2000s . Follow Melanie through a wasteland of junkers and hungries, as you uncover the motives and secrets of the four main characters and the world that has decayed around them. Part thriller, part fantasy, this book is a must read for those who have grown weary of the post apocolyptic genre, and want to read something with a fresh perspective. - Laurence (QBD)
