Fifteen-year-old Jared Kingsley isn't thrilled to be spending the summer with the father he has never met. For one thing, it means joining his father's theatre company during its production of 'Richard III'. Worse, Jared's bratty television star of a half brother, Tad, is acting along with him. Then Jared sees a face shimmering in the dressing-room mirror. As opening night approaches, Jared realises with growing horror that his spirit friend may be turning Shakespeare's bloody play into a reality for himself and his brother.
