A sharp, funny psychological crime thriller.
When Nick Kerr's wife comes home from a business dinner a little more "receptive" than usual, he's a tad suspicious. And when he finds a love note in her trouser pocket the next day, he's got reason to be.
Nick isn't a secure man - a Mr Average - while his wife is a beautiful, successful, high-powered business woman. She fesses up over the affair and asks for some time on her own - a trial separation in other words. Nick agrees and then does some investigating - it seems his wife has been getting her hands dirty in all sorts of places.
His life is in tatters and just when it seems things can't get any worse, his wife winds up dead - and Nick's the prime suspect.
