A stunning collection of brand new British crime stories by bestselling authors, published to celebrate 75 years of the Detection Club.
Appropriately for such a society, the precise date of the Detection Club's founding is shrouded in mystery. Regular meetings of crime writers seem to have taken place in 1930, and the Club was formalised with a constitution and rules in March 1932.
The Club's first president was G.K. Chesterton, and since then the mantle of Presidency has passed to some of the most significant names in the history of crime fiction, including Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers and Julian Symonds. Since its inception the Club has existed simply to have three convivial dinners a year for fifty members who represent the cream of British crime writing talent.
This anthology will include twelve stories by the following authors: Lindsey Davis, Robert Barnard, Colin Dexter, Robert Goddard, John Harvey, Reginald Hill, P.D. James, H.R.F. Keating, Peter Lovesey, Michael Ridpath, Margaret Yorke and Simon Brett, and the collection will be edited by Simon Brett. Among the authors are several bestsellers as well as winners of both Diamond and Gold Daggers. This will be an outstanding anthology, popular with crime lovers everywhere.
