An hilarious romantic comedy about a couple of twenty-somethings in search of the deed to a valuable piece of property - the island of Manhattan.
Jason Hansvoort suddenly finds himself involved with Amanda, an attractive law student and a member of the Manahata, the tribe of Native Americans who sold Manhattan Island to the Dutch in the early seventeenth century. Amanda believes that a lost document exists that confers ownership of Manhattan on a contemporary Dutch benefactor and his descendants, and that Jason is the last in that line - heir to the island and everything on it. All she needs to do is establish his bloodline and find the deed.
Jason's attraction to Amanda convinces him to play along, and as their investigation yields unexpected successes the notion seems increasingly possible, even as his real life begins to deteriorate. Amanda resists his romantic advances but can't risk losing him, and the two become locked in a mutually uncomfortable bargain. Meanwhile, A New York crime family catches the scent of easy riches to be made, and they begin tracking Amanda, ready to do whatever it takes to resuscitate their fallen fortunes.
What ensues is a fast-paced, hilarious, and wild adventure filled with plenty of off-hand humour.
