The moving stories of missionaries Ian and Caralee Loring, who have lived and worked in strife-filled Albania during the last eight years.
Despite the close observance of the secret police and socialist propaganda arousing hatred of foreigners, the Lorings have continued to make an impact in Albania through their committment to it's people. Their humanitarian work has smoothed the way to acceptance and trust: running English classes, church leadership training, a computer school, a publishing house, a potato plantation to provide income for local church workers and a knitting business employing women from the town.
After the collapse of communism, social anarchy erupted and their churches came under heavy attack. Nonetheless, Ian and his workers were central in restoring order and driving through situations of open warfare for food and medical supplies.
Many lives have been transformed through their work - many have found sanctuary, and some have found hope in the gospel. There are those who walked to the border, those with terrible nightmares, those caught in crossfire, school children who are KLA fighters. These human-interest stories will be central to the book, against the backdrop of war and strife.
