Follows 'The Mammy'.
It's now three years since Agnes Browne was widowed and her fatherless brood of seven kids, the 'chisellers', are more than a handful. Mark, the eldest, has taken to his job at Mr Wise's furniture business like a fish to water and is doing his mammy proud, but what is Agnes to do with Frankie who is tearing the family apart? And then, as if she hasn't had enough to worry about, the family is to be evicted from the Jarro, the heart of Dublin's working class, and relocated to the wilds of suburban Finglas.
But Agnes Browne is a fighter when it comes to her family and she copes with triumph and tragedy as her children start to make their own way in the world - not without the help of her ambitious eldest son and support from Pierre, her persistent French suitor.
