In August 1968 steam traction on BR officially ended. This new book will follows on from Paul Hurley and Phil Braithwaite's Remembering Steam, which revelled in beautiful imagery capturing the end of the steam scene on Britain's railways. This new book takes the reader on a photographic journey across the transitional years, from the end of steam and into the diesel and electric eras. These contemporary photographs have never been published before and offer a unique window into the past, and into a time of enormous change, linking the steam age with the new one that followed.
