Jilly is puzzled. Her dog, Old Butterpaws, has been missing for months. Ever since Jilly first saw him, as an unconscious puppy on her back step, Butterpaws has been strange. When he was at home, there were messes and noises. (Perfectly understandable.) Now that he's not there, there are messes and noises too. (Very scary.)
What can be happening? Why did Butterpaws vanish and where is he now? Jilly is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery of her disappearing dog.
