Tye McBride has sold his interest in the family plantation in South Carolina and moved to Texas to live near his twin brother, Trace, and establish a cattle ranch. When Trace wants to take his bride on a belated honeymoon, Tye agrees to care for his three nieces aka the McBride Menaces. Tye prefers to call then the McBride blessings.
When Trace's ship is lost at sea he is responsible for the girls but a battle ensues over custody with their maternal grandparents and Tye's only chance of keeping them is to be married. Amanda Marsh happens to need a husband to establish the credibility of The Marsh Baking company and when Tye proposes they make a deal. She thinks marriage to this handsome and intriguing man is not such a bad idea even if it is in name only. As tensions rise and their problems increase Tye and Amanda depend more and more upon each other and their marriage turns into more than the charade they thought it was.
