'The Asian Collection' includes recipes from all over south and east Asia, from India, Sri Lanka, China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia. Asia is the largest continent on earth, over half the world's population live there and the cuisines are a subject as vast as the continent itself.
In the same way that Asia is a vast melting pot of cultures and religions, its cuisines are also a hybnrid of disparate influences: the Moghuls in India, the French and Chinese in Vietnam, the Portuguese in Goa, Daman and Timor, the British in India, and the Dutch in Indonesia. Each of these ruling powers brought with them new ingredients and ways of life and have left their mark on the dishes they influenced or left behind.
The Asian Collection contsains over 100 authentic recipes from all over Asia. The country of origin and the Asian name are given with each one and many of them are illustrated with evocative colour photographs.
