TERROR TRACKER chronicles the extraordinary adventures of an investigative journalist who gives up his job and sets out to penetrate the underworld of international terrorism. Alarming, riveting and entertaining, this is a fast-moving, insider's account of the West's war on terrorism; it's also an inspiring tale of innovation and triumph in the face of stacked odds.

Author Neil Doyle leads us into a world where underground bases, nuclear suicide bombers, secret terrorism factories, doomsday devices, espionage and imminent global economic meltdown are everyday affairs. He describes his efforts to sort myth from reality and his encounters with the colourful characters he meets along the way: spies, ex-spies, terrorists, hackers, editors, patriots, defectors, jihad warriors, scientists and militant clerics.
The book culminates by revealing details of a covert sting operation that results in the acquisition of a cache of video and audio tapes that show terrorist suspects attending secret meetings in London. Although he didn't know it at the time, the journey began in 1993, with an assignment to report on the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City. That experience leads him to resolve, on the afternoon of 11 September 2001, to abandon his job as an online news editor in favour of investigating al-Qaeda as a freelance operator.

In what was a unique experiment and a dangerous gamble, he decided to go with his intuition. In the days following the 11 September attacks, he set out to trace the current whereabouts of Osama bin Laden - and succeeded.
TERROR TRACKER also lifts the lid on the unseen battles now being waged between al-Qaeda computer hackers and their Western counterparts. One of the combatants is a British spy who operates a network of agents that specialise in using the internet for espionage. They include a housewife turned cyber-mermaid who lurks in internet chat rooms and entices terrorists to their deaths.
