Tested tools to help eliminate abusive behaviors at work.
A recent Center for Creative Leadership survey recorded that 74 percent of executives have had at least one "intolerable" boss in their careers–an abrasive honcho who is blind to the harm his/her bullying inflicts. But while there are numerous books available for helping rank-and-file employees cope with bad bosses, there is little out there to help leaders and HR executives deal with bullying managers. In this book, Dr. Laura Crawshaw’s research reveals two surprising findings that could change the way organizations deal with bullies in their midst: 1. Few workplace bullies actually mean to cause workplace pain. Lacking emotional intelligence and empathetic skills, they are blind to everything except their own worries about business failure; and 2. Abrasive managers can become excellent managers if they are properly trained and coached to see their behavior as self-destructive. Dr. Crawshaw’s book provides a road map to reclaiming even the most abusive managers in our midst.
