Rhys is a thirteen-year-old boy who loves to tap dance. He knows that his peers will give him a hard time if he tells them, so he keeps it to himself.
While Rhys's parents are working, he is sent to Lorne for the weekend to stay with a boy from his class. Sam is into surfing and the boys spend entire days at the beach. Rhys can't believe Sam's enthusiastic response to his dancing! Why is he being so nice? It turns out that Sam has a secret of his own, and the boys develop a close friendship when they are forced to deal with Sam's alcoholic mother.
