This book is based on the Five-Step Life Plan - a method of life planning and stress management that has been developed and refined in clinical practice for over 13 years.
The Five-Step Life Plan is a blueprint for taking control of your life. Not only does it deal with managing the unpleasant events in your world, but it also includes information about how to identify what kind of a life you want, and how to achieve it.
The first part of the book is devoted to self-analysis:
- Ways to recognise what is wrong with your life and pinpoint why it feels out of control.
- How to identify the stress you experience, to locate its causes and to understand its effects.
The second part covers how you can plan the life you want to live:
- By eliminating or managing your stress; and
- By deciding what you will put into your life to balance and enhance it.
Also included are sections to help you design your own Life Plan - a plan that identifies and minimises your stress and that recognises and maximises your enjoyments and your opportunities to reach your goals.
The book includes case studies from people who have used the Five-Step Life Plan and some of the strategies they have selected to construct the lives they want to live.
